Our imported swivels are ball bearing swivels. A ball bearing swivel have metal plates with metal balls running in channels between the plans. When the swivel is turned, the top plate rotates on top of the other and the metal balls reduce the friction between them. Ball bearing swivels will typically last between 60,000-100,000 rotations.
Our domestic swivels are nylon race swivels. These are made from two nylon disks that fit together and turn around one another. This closeness of the disks creates higher friction than the ball bearing swivels but does not wear on the nylon. Nylon race swivels have been tested up to one million rotations without a noticeable difference. Domestic swivels have a 10-year warranty.
